Samsung Galaxy A21s is a mid-rangeAndroid smartphone designed, developed, marketed, and manufactured bySamsung Electronics as part of itsGalaxy A series.
The A21s line consists ofSM-A217F,SM-A217F/DS,SM-A217F/DSN,SM-A217M andSM-A217M/DS. Key upgrades over the previous model, theSamsung Galaxy A20s, include the new Exynos 850 chipset and an improved camera setup. It was announced and released in May 2020.
The Galaxy A21s has a 6.5" PLS TFT LCD Infinity O display with HD+ 720 x 1600 resolution, 20:9aspect ratio, ~270 ppi density. The phone itself measures 163.7 mm (6.44 in) x 75.3 mm (2.96 in) x 8.9 mm (0.35 in) andweighs 192 g (6.8 oz). The phone is powered byExynos 850 (8 nm) SoC (System on a chip) with an octa-core (4x2.0 GHz Cortex-A55 & 4x2.0 GHz Cortex-A55) CPU and a Mali-G52GPU. The phone comes with either 4GB or 6GBRAM as well as 64GB or 128GBinternal storage, which can be expanded via amicroSD card of up to 512GB. It comes with a non-removable 5000mAh lithium polymerbattery which charges with a15WFast Charger. It also has a rear-mountedfingerprint sensor.[1]
The Samsung Galaxy A21s has a fourcamera setup arranged in an "L" shape located in the corner with a rectangular protrusion similar to that of theiPhone 11 and thePixel 4. The array consists of a 48 MP wideangle camera, an 8 MPultrawide camera, a 2 MPmacro camera, and a 2 MP depth sensor.[3] It also has a single 13 MP front facing camera, which sits in a small punch hole on the front of thescreen. The rear facing cameras can record video up to1080p in 30fps. The front cameras can shoot1080p at 30 fps.[4]
The Galaxy A21s originally came withAndroid 10 andOne UI Core 2.1. It is promised to have at least two large OS updates. It is also promised to have 4 years of security updates. The phone hasSamsung Knox 3.7 for added system security.[4]
As of August 2022[update], it is updated throughAndroid 12 with One UI Core 4.1,[5] and Samsung ended support for the A21s on 15 June 2024.[6]
