Sampot chang samluy (Khmer:សំពត់ចងសម្លុយ[sɑmpɔtcɑːŋsɑmluj]) is a tubegarment wrap around the lower body, length to foot, worn by a large community inCambodia. As an important style divided from traditionalSampot tied with the ancientSompot Chong Kben, the outfit was originally prefer by most Khmer women until the 16th century of theLongvek era. It attracted a large number ofNoblemen, the somloy represented a more femaleNational costume along withSbai forCambodia.
Sompot Chong Somloy appears in 11th century Khmer sculpture. Influence of Indian-Sri Lankan culture. and it has been seen on numerous statues of that period. It's the most popular skirt forKhmer women in that period and continued until the present.
