American occult writer

Sam Webster is an Americanwriter, founder ofConcrescent Press, and an advocate foropen source religion—the use of theopen sourceparadigm in the field ofspirituality. He is aThelemite, a member of theGolden Dawn tradition, BishopTau Ty ofEcclesia Gnostica Universalis (Universal Gnostic Church), and an initiate ofWicca.

Education

Webster holds aMaster of Divinity degree from theStarr King School for the Ministry at theGraduate Theological Union inBerkeley, California.[1] He advocatesopen source religion—the use of theopen sourceparadigm in the field ofspirituality.[1][2]

Career

Webster is aThelemite, a member of theGolden Dawn tradition,[1] and BishopTau Ty ofEcclesia Gnostica Universalis,[3] as well as an initiate ofWicca.[4] He has founded or cofounded several occult and Pagan organizations, including the Chthonic Auranian Templars of Thelema (1985)[5] and theOpen Source Order of the Golden Dawn (2002).[1]

Webster has written a number of articles and essays on occult andpagan topics, publishing both online and inmodern pagan periodicals includingGreen Egg,Mezlim,Gnosis andPanGaea. Many of his essays on pagandharma andThelema have been made available online. In 2001, he was one of a number of Neopagans interviewed inModern Pagans - An Investigation of Contemporary Pagan Ritual, a feature article in the counter-cultural journalRE/Search.[6]

Concrescent Press published his bookTantric Thelema in January 2010.[7]
