Salvador, also calledSalvador Settlement Corral, is a smallharbour andsettlement onEast Falkland, in theFalkland Islands, It is on the north east coast, on the south shore ofPort Salvador. It is one of a handful ofSpanish place names on the islands, still in use.
It was founded byAndrés Pitaluga, aGibraltarian, in the 1830s, who arrived fromGibraltar via continentalSouth America. His descendants still run thefarm there and the settlement is therefore sometimes referred to as "Gibraltar Station" or "Gibraltar Settlement".
