Salvador García Puig (born 4 March 1961), known asSalva, is a Spanish former professionalfootballer who played as adefender.
Born inSant Adrià de Besòs,Barcelona,Catalonia, Salva finished his development atFC Barcelona. In his professional career, he played forFC Barcelona Atlètic,Real Zaragoza,Hércules CF, Barcelona (where he was solely a backup)[1] andCD Logroñés, retiring at the age of 31 with 156La Liga matches to his credit in ten seasons.[2]
Salva's best output for theCamp Nou-based club consisted of 17 games in the1987–88 campaign, which ended withvictory in theCopa del Rey.[3]
Salva earned sixcaps forSpain in less than one year.[2] His debut came on 5 October 1983 in afriendly withFrance inParis,[4] being included in theUEFA Euro 1984 squad and making three appearances for the runners-up, includingthe final.[5]
