TheSalt Lake Golden Eagles were a minor professional hockey team based inSalt Lake City from 1969 to 1994.
They played in theWestern Hockey League from 1969 to 1974, theCentral Hockey League from 1974 to 1984 and theInternational Hockey League from 1984 to 1994. The Golden Eagles home arena was theSalt Palace from 1969 to 1991 and theDelta Center from 1991 to 1994. In 1994Larry H. Miller, who also owned theUtah Jazz and the Delta Center, sold the team toDetroit interests. The Golden Eagles became theDetroit Vipers.
