Saikrishna Bangalore Prakash is an American legal scholar who holds theJames Monroe Distinguished Professorship of Law and the Albert Clark Tate Jr. Professorship of Law at theUniversity of Virginia School of Law. He studied economics and political science atStanford University and earned hisJuris Doctor fromYale Law School, where he was awarded theJohn M. Olin Fellowship in Law, Economics and Public Policy and was senior editor of theYale Law Journal.
Prakash clerked forClarence Thomas of theSupreme Court of the United States and JudgeLaurence H. Silberman of theUnited States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. He previously served as the Herzog Research Professor of Law at theUniversity of San Diego School of Law. He was elected to theAmerican Law Institute in 2017[1][2] and served as the Michael Doyle and Bunny Winter Distinguished Visiting professor of law at Yale Law School in the fall 2022 term.[3]
