Gamma-1-syntrophin is aprotein that in humans is encoded by theSNTG1gene.^[5]^[6]

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of thesyntrophin family. Syntrophins are cytoplasmicperipheral membrane proteins that typically contain 2pleckstrin homology (PH) domains, aPDZ domain that bisects the first PH domain, and a C-terminal domain that mediatesdystrophin binding. This gene is specifically expressed in thebrain.Transcript variants for this gene have been described, but their full-length nature has not been determined.^[6]
