Protein-coding gene in the species Homo sapiens
Solute carrier family 22 member 7 is aprotein that in humans is encoded by thegene SLC22A7 .[ 5] [ 6] [ 7]
The protein encoded by this gene is involved in the sodium-independent transport and excretion of organicanions , some of which are potentiallytoxic . The encoded protein is anintegral membrane protein and appears to be localized to thebasolateral membrane of thekidney . Alternatively splicedtranscript variants encoding differentisoforms have been described.[ 7]
