SEC14L2 is agene that, in humans, encodes theproteinSEC14-like protein 2.[5][6]

Function

This gene encodes a cytosolic protein which belongs to a family of lipid-binding proteins including Sec14p,alpha-tocopherol transfer protein, and cellularretinol-binding protein. The encoded protein stimulatessqualene monooxygenase which is a downstreamenzyme inmetabolism of cholesterol.[6]
