SAARC Fountain is a fountain inDhaka,Bangladesh. It is situated atKawran Bazar, at the intersection ofPanthapath, Kazi Nazrul Islam Avenue, and Sonargaon Road, and is adjacent to thePan Pacific Sonargaon hotel.[1]
The structure was designed byNitun Kundu, a Bangladeshi artist and sculptor.[2] While the fountain is made of steel, the reservoir is made of reinforced cement concrete.
The structure was built shortly before the inauguralSAARC summit held in Dhaka in 1985.
