Sivanathan Kishore (Tamil:சிவநாதன் கிசோர்; born 12 May 1962) is aSri Lankan Tamil politician and former member of parliament.
Kishore was born on 12 May 1962.[1]
Kishore was aRed Cross official for 14 years.[2][3] He was arrested by theSri Lanka Army in April 1999 and handed over to the Terrorist Investigation Division.[4][5] He was released in August 2000 after 16 months in detention.[6]
Kishore was selected by the rebelLiberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) to be one of theTamil National Alliance's (TNA) candidates inVanni District at the2004 parliamentary election.[7] He was elected and enteredParliament.[8]
In 2010, after the LTTE's military defeat in thecivil war, the TNA deselected most of its LTTE appointed MPs, including Kishore.[9] He subsequently joined the governingUnited People's Freedom Alliance (UPFA).[9] He contested the2010 parliamentary election as one of the UPFA's candidates in Vanni District but failed to get elected after coming ninth amongst the UPFA candidates.[10]
Kishore contested the2015 parliamentary election as one of theTamil United Liberation Front's (TULF) candidates in Vanni District but again the TULF failed to win any seats in Parliament.[11][12][13]
