Sümi, alsoSema, is aSino-Tibetan language spoken inNagaland,India. It is spoken by theSümi Naga people. It differs from every other Naga languages due to the presence of guttural sounds.[2][3]
Sümi is spoken in central and southernNagaland, mainly inZünheboto District. There are also good number of speakers in parts ofNiuland,Dimapur,Chümoukedima andKiphire District(s), as well as in 7 villages ofTinsukia District,Assam (Ethnologue).
