Rustam Sohrab is a 1963 IndianHindi-language film, produced byF.U. Ramsay and directed byVishram Bedekar.[1][2][3]
The film hasSuraiya as the heroine (in the role ofShehzadi Tehmina) andPrithviraj Kapoor (in the role ofRustom Zabuli) as the hero. The story is based on the legendary poem ofRostam and Sohrab by Persian poetFerdowsi.Prem Nath plays the role ofSohrab, Rustam's son andMumtaz plays the role of Shahroo, Sohrab's love. The film has music bySajjad Hussain.[4]
It was the last film of Suraiya, after which she gave up acting and singing altogether. In the film, she sang her swan song "Ye kaisi ajab dastan ho gayi hai", which is regarded as one of her hit film songs.[2]
