Rusocin[ruˈsɔt͡ɕin] is a village in the administrative district ofGmina Pruszcz Gdański, withinGdańsk County,Pomeranian Voivodeship, in northern Poland.[1] It lies approximately 5 km (3 mi) south ofPruszcz Gdański and 16 km (10 mi) south of the regional capitalGdańsk. It is located within the historic region ofPomerania.
Rusocin was a private village owned by variousPolish nobles, incl. the Dąbrowski and Wojanowski families, administratively located in the Tczew County in thePomeranian Voivodeship of theKingdom of Poland.[2] It was annexed byPrussia in theFirst Partition of Poland in 1772.
DuringWorld War II, from September 1944 to February 1945, the village was the location of a subcamp of theStutthof concentration camp, in which Nazi Germans imprisoned around 300 Jewish women asforced labour.[3]
The village is located close to the start/end point of theA1 andS6 highways.
