TheRoxy Theatre was a movie palace inAtlanta,Georgia.[1] It was notable for showcasing the original Atlanta runs of such films asSpartacus, the 1962The Music Man, the TechnicolorMutiny on the Bounty withMarlon Brando, andMy Fair Lady. It was torn down in 1972 to make way for theWestin Peachtree Plaza, the hotel that was prominently featured in the 1981 filmSharky's Machine.[2] It should not be confused with theCoca-Cola Roxy Theatre, originally theBuckhead Theatre, a different building inBuckhead.[3] The Buckhead Theatre subsequently became the Capri Theatre and later closed, re-opening in 2010 under its original nameBuckhead Theatre.
In July 2016,LiveNation and theAtlanta Braves announced that a theater with the nameCoca-Cola Roxy will reside at the newSunTrust Park as part ofThe Battery Atlanta, the development surrounding the new stadium.[4]
