Romeo Vermant (born 24 January 2004) is a Belgian professionalfootballer who plays as aforward forClub Brugge and theBelgium national team.
Vermant began his career at the youth academy ofClub Brugge. On 22 January 2021, Vermant made his debut for Brugge's reserve side,Club NXT in theBelgian First Division B againstLierse.[1] On 5 January 2022, he signed a professional contract with the club tying him until 2024.[2]
On 22 January 2024, Vermant moved on loan toWesterlo until the end of the season.[3] Following his return to Club Brugge in the 2024–25 season, he netted his first goal for the club in a 2–1 win overAnderlecht on 27 October, in addition to making hisUEFA Champions League debut.[4] On 4 May 2025, he scored a brace in a 2–1 victory over Anderlecht in theBelgian Cup final.[5]
Vermant was called up to the seniorBelgium national team for a set of2026 FIFA World Cup qualification matches in November 2025.[6]
Vermant is the son of former Belgian internationalSven Vermant. He was born inGelsenkirchen, Germany when his father was playing forSchalke. His maternal grandfather Eric Van Vyve and great-grandfather Marcel Van Vyve were also footballers forClub Brugge, making him a fourth generation footballer.[7]
