Osimo Cathedral

TheDiocese ofOsimo eCingoli was aRoman Catholic diocese inItaly.

It was founded in 1725 from a merger of theDiocese of Osimo and theDiocese of Cingoli. In 1986 it merged with theDiocese of Macerata-Tolentino, theDiocese of Recanati and theDiocese of San Severino to form theDiocese of Macerata-Tolentino-Recanati-Cingoli-Treia.[1][2]

It was contained within thePapal States.[3]

25 January 1985: The former Diocese of Cingoli was split from the Diocese of Osimo e Cingoli and united with theDiocese of Macerata e Tolentino, theDiocese of Recanati, and theDiocese of San Severino (-Treia) to form theDiocese of Macerata-Tolentino-Recanati-Cingoli-Treia.

United: 30 September 1986 with theDiocese of Ancona to form theRoman Catholic Archdiocese of Ancona-Osimo
