Roland Baar (German pronunciation:[ˈʁoːlantˈbaːɐ̯]; 12 April 1965[1] – 23 June 2018)[2] was a German rower who competed for his nation at severalOlympic Games.[3][4] After retiring from the sport in 1996, he received theThomas Keller Medal in 1998. He served on theAthletes' Commission of theInternational Olympic Committee between 1999 and 2004.

Baar was killed in a car crash in June 2018.[2]
