Rohitashv Gour is an Indian actor who appears inHindi films and television shows. He is best known for his leading roles in the popular TVsitcomsLapataganj andBhabiji Ghar Par Hain!, the latter ranks among the longest-running Indian comedy sitcoms. He currently serves as the president of the All India Artist Association (AIAA),Shimla.
Gour was born inKalka and was a student ofNational School of Drama,New Delhi.[1]
Rohitashv Gour made hisBollywood debut in the 2001biographical filmVeer Savarkar.[2] Although he has acted in 11 Bollywood films so far, most of them are very minor roles like police inspector role in college drama of Kya Kehna etc. He portrayed the role of Mukundilal Gupta, in theSAB TV sitcomLapataganj – Sharad Joshi Ki Kahaniyon Ka Pata. He is currently working in&TVs comedy showBhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai! as Manmohan Tiwari, an undergarments business man. He also acted in a 1990s television serial namedEhsaas. His second film was 2002Irrfan Khan starrerPratha.[3] He then acted in 2003 filmPinjar, where he played the role ofprotagonist's (Manoj Bajpai) brother.[4] The same year, he acted in two more movies,Dhoop directed by theNational Award winning director Ashwini Chaudhary[5] and inMunna Bhai M.B.B.S. where he played the role of nariyal pani waala (coconut water vendor).[6] After a one-year gap, he starred in 2005 filmMatrubhoomi – A Nation Without Women.[7] The same year, he starred inSun Zarra,[8]Lage Raho Munna Bhai, the sequel to the 2003 filmMunna Bhai M.B.B.S., wherein he portrayed the role of Cuckoo, theantagonist Lucky Singh's (Boman Irani) secretary[9] and inDil Se Pooch? Kidhar Jaana Hai.[10] Again after a gap of a year, in 2008, he was seen in the comedy filmOne Two Three[11] (uncredited remake ofBlame it on the Bellboy) and the much critically acclaimedA Wednesday!, where he portrayed the role of Ikhlaque Ahmed, a fictionalterrorist.[12] In 2010 he acted in the filmAtithi Tum Kab Jaoge?, where he portrayed the role of a bank manager.[13] His latest release wasPK in 2014 where he played as a police constable named Pandey Ji.[14]
