Rohit Khurana is an Indian television actor known for his work as Vansh Singh Bundela/Rocky inUttaran andShani inKarmaphal Daata Shani.[1]

Khurana is married to his school friend Neha.[2] They had a son and daughter.[3]

Modelling, acting debut and breakthrough (2001–13)

Khurana started his career as a model inDelhi.[1] In TV, he had a small role in the serialChoti Maa: Ek Anokha Bandhan in 2001.[4] In 2008, he obtained a lead role as Abhiram in theTelugu filmSangamam. However, it failed to perform well commercially because of a lack of commercial elements.[5]

His first major breakthrough and official debut in TV occurred with the dual role of Vansh Singh Bundela / Rocky in theIndian soap operaUttaran onColors TV in 2009, oppositeTina Datta.[6] The show garnered him fame.[7]

In 2010, Khurana featured inStar One'sMiley Jab Hum Tum.[8] He was next featured inMaayke Se Bandhi Dor onStar Plus in 2011.[9] That year he made hisBollywood debut with the Hindi movieMen Will Be Men.[10] It failed to perform well commercially.[11]

In 2012, Khurana was cast in theTamil filmBilla II.[12] He forayed intoPunjabi cinema withrom-comDil Tainu Karda Ae Pyar.[13] In 2013, his secondPunjabi film,Singh vs Kaur, was released.[14]

Returning toHindi television, Khurana performed the lead role inSony Entertainment Television's 2013 love storyDil Ki Nazar Se Khoobsurat, oppositeSoumya Seth.[15] He was praised for his performance as Madhav Periwal, an ugly man.[16] He left the series after his character's death.[17]

Further works and success (2013–present)

Towards the end of 2013, Khurana joinedColors TV's popular daily soapSasural Simar Ka.[18] He was cast as Shaurya Singhania, an antagonist oppositeFalaq Naaz.[19] He left the soap after three months.[20] Afterwards, he took a short break from acting.[21]

Khurana ended his break in 2015, and came back to TV playing Jamaal Peshawari inZee TV'sLajwanti.[22] That year he had an extended cameo appearance inStar Plus'sSuhani Si Ek Ladki as Rohan, a lawyer.[7] From 2015 to 2016, he portrayed the part of Viraat inBig Magic'sChatur Aur Chalak, Birbal aur Viraat.[23] He was chosen for the character of a garbage man in the Hindi short filmGirl in Red.[24]

The role of Dr. Manav Garewal inColors TV's reincarnation-based romanceKasam Tere Pyaar Ki marked Khurana's first television venture of 2017.[25] He then appeared in the filmHotel Beautifool.[26] He received immense praise for his portrayal of adultShani inColors TV's mythological seriesKarmaphal Daata Shani, a role he received in the last quarter of 2017.[27] He played the same role as a guest in anotherColors TV mythological show,Mahakali — Anth Hi Aarambh Hai.[28][29]

In 2019, Khurana was cast inColors TV's supernatural seriesTantra as Daksh Mehra.[30]

In 2020, he played as Shani Dev in Devi Adi Parashakti.[citation needed]
