Rod Connop (born June 4, 1959) is a Canadian former professionalfootball player for theEdmonton Eskimos of theCanadian Football League (CFL).[1] He spent his entire 16-year career with the Eskimos as anoffensive lineman.[2] Connop playedCIS football atWilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks.[3] He was named CFL All-Star six times and won theCFL's Most Outstanding Offensive Lineman Award in the1989 CFL season.[2] Connop played 210 consecutive games with the Eskimos from 1983 until his retirement following the 1997 season. As of 2011, he continued to be the all-time Eskimo leader in games played (274).[4] He is a member of theCanadian Football Hall of Fame, where he was inducted in 2005.[2][5] His sonRory Connop played for theSaskatchewan Roughriders of the CFL as adefensive lineman.[6]
