Abuffalo jump located where the foothills of the Rocky Mountains begin to rise from the prairie.

TheRocky Mountain Foothills are an upland area flanking the eastern side of theRocky Mountains, extending from theLiard River inBritish Columbia southward intoAlberta.[1] Bordering theInterior Plains system, they are part of theRocky Mountain System or Eastern System of theWestern Cordillera of North America.[2]
