TheRochester metropolitan statistical area , as defined by theUnited States Census Bureau , is ametropolitan statistical area consisting of four counties insoutheast Minnesota , Dodge, Fillmore, Olmsted, and Wabasha. The principal city isRochester , the city, which has a population of 121,395.[ 4]
A July 1, 2024 census estimate placed the population at 230,742,[ 1] an increase of 1.95% from the2020 census , an increase of 11.54% from the2010 census , and an increase of 24.90% from the2000 census .
