Roccella Ionica (Italian pronunciation:[rotˈtʃɛllaˈjɔːnika]; also known asRoccella Jonica or simply asRoccella (Roccellese:Rucceja) is a town andcomune located on theIonian Sea inCalabria, southernItaly.
Possibly built on the site of the ancientGreek settlement ofAmphissa, Roccella is probably best known for hosting a major annualjazz festival. It is a town on the sea and has many tourists in summer for beach vacations.
