Robyn Ebbern (born 2 July 1944) is an Australian formertennis player who was active in the 1960s.
Born inBrisbane, Ebbern andMargaret Smith won theAustralian Championships doubles in1962 and1963 and theU.S. Championships doubles in1963. In the same year in theFrench Championships, they were defeated in the final byRenée Schuurman andAnn Haydon-Jones. In January 1962, she reached the final of the Tasmanian Championships in which she was defeated byMargaret Smith.[1] In July 1963 she won the singles title at the Swiss Championships, played in Gstaad, defeatingLesley Turner in the final in straight sets.[2] In the doubles final, she teamed up with Turner and won againstRenée Schuurman andNorma Baylon.[3] In November 1963, she partnered with Smith to win the South Australian doubles title against Turner andJan Lehane.[4]
In the1965 Australian Championships mixed doubles, she andOwen Davidson shared the championship with Court andJohn Newcombe. The final was not played. In 1966, Ebbern andBill Bowrey were defeated in the final byJudy Tegart andTony Roche.
According toLance Tingay ofThe Daily Telegraph and theDaily Mail, Ebbern was ranked world No. 9 at year-end in 1964.[5]
