Robin E. Haak (born. 1986) is aGerman political scientist, tech entrepreneur and investor fromHanover, Germany.[1][2]
Robin Eric Haak was born in Hanover, Germany and was graduated fromGymnasium in Hanover. Haak studiedpolitical science, law and economics at theUniversity of Salzburg. He later studiedmedia management at Hamburg Media School, as well asUniversity of Hamburg and graduated with anMBA degree.[3] Haak started his career with an internship atVersace inNew York. Later, he was employed byAxel Springer SE inBerlin.[3][4] where he worked for theAxel Springer Digital Ventures, and worked atAxel Springer Plug and Play Accelerator.[5][6] With this company, he acted as the first investor in the Fintech companyN26.[7]
After leaving Springer, Haak worked as a Managing Director at Jobspotting GmbH, which was a company he invested in withAxel Springer Digital Ventures;[8] the company merged with Smartrecruiters Inc.,[6][9] where he became Shareholder as well as Managing Director; the company later reachedunicorn status.[10][11] Despite public claims by Haak that he is a founder or co-founder of Jobspotting, there is no proof to that claim. The company was founded on the 18th of October 2013 with the shareregister only having records of four parties.His father and Haak, through their holding company Haak & Compagnie Gesellschaft für Beteiligungen mbH invested in a Jobspotting with their shares registered on the 20th of May 2014. Haak himself only apears on the captable with the funding round closed on the 29th of July 2014. Haak holds a stake in the companyWoman Inc. UG[12] and founded the company as Chief Marketing Officer.[13][14]
He is also shareholder and board member of other companies.[15][16][17] He co-created and built upRevaia, a German and France basedGrowth Equity Fund, with an Environment Social Governance focus, and a crossover investment strategy (public and private investing), with a first fund size of 250 million €.[18] In 2022 he worked withRomanée-Conti. In 2023 he founded a Solo GPVenture Capital Fund, called Robin Capital.
