Roberto Perpignani (born 20 April 1941) is an Italian film editor.
He started his career in 1962 as assistant editor inOrson Welles'The Trial.[1] His first credit as film editor is forBernardo Bertolucci'sBefore the Revolution.[2]
He won threeDavid di Donatello forBest Editing, in 1983 forPaolo e Vittorio Taviani'sThe Night of the Shooting Stars, in 1995 forMichael Radford'sIl Postino: The Postman and in 1997 forRoberto Faenza'sMarianna Ucria. Perpignani was also awarded a Premio Bianchi at the53rd Venice International Film Festival.[3]
Perpignani was married withfilm producerGrazia Volpi, who produced many of theTaviani brothers' films, until her death in 2020.
