Robert Vigouroux (French pronunciation:[ʁɔbɛʁviɡuʁu]; 21 March 1923 – 9 July 2017)[1] was a Frenchpolitician and writer.[2] He was theMayor ofMarseille (the second largest city inFrance) from 1986 to1995, and aFrench Senator for theBouches-du-Rhône from 1989 to 1998.[2][3][4]
Robert Vigouroux was born inParis.[2][3] In 1942, he moved to Marseilles to work as a doctor in hospitals.[2] He was elected as Mayor of Marseille in 1986, and as Senator in 1989.[2][3] He later published two volumes ofpoetry under thepen name of Stépan Alexis, and lateressays,novels, volumes of paintings and photographs in his real name.[2]
