Robbie Cotter (born 2001) is an Irishhurler andGaelic footballer. At club level he plays withBlackrock andSt Michael's and at inter-county level with theCork senior hurling team.

Career

Cotter first played hurling at juvenile and underage levels with theBlackrock club. He later played as a schoolboy withChristian Brothers College in theHarty Cup before attendingUniversity College Cork (UCC).[1] Cotter was part of theUCC team that won theCanon O'Brien Cup in 2024.[2]

After progressing from the underage grades, Cotter first played at adult club level with the Blackrock intermediate team in 2019. He won aCork IHC medal that year before later being promoted to the club's senior team.[3] Cotter was part of the Blackrock team that beatGlen Rovers to win theCork PSHC title in 2020.[4] He has also enjoyed success as aGaelic footballer with sister clubSt Michael's. Cotter won aCity JAFC medal in 2019, before collecting aCork SAFC medal in 2022.[5]

Cotter first appeared on the inter-county scene withCork during a two-year stint with theunder-20 team. After claiming anAll-Ireland U20HC title as a member of the extended panel in 2020, he collected a winners' medal on the field of play the following year.[6][7] Cotter had been close to thesenior team over the following few seasons before making his debut in the pre-seasonMunster SHL in 2024.[8]
