British film critic

Robbie Collin is a Britishfilm critic.

Collin studiedaesthetics and thephilosophy of film at theUniversity of St Andrews,Scotland.[1] He edited the university's student newspaper,The Saint.

Collin has been the chief film critic atThe Daily Telegraph since 2011. From 2007 to 2011 he wrote a weekly film column for theNews of the World until the newspaper's closure. That year he was shortlisted for Critic of the Year at the BritishPress Awards,[2] and was shortlisted again in 2017, when he was highly commended by the jury.[3]

He appeared on theChannel 4Vue Film Show, presented byEdith Bowman, and contributed to theBBC Radio 2 Arts Show withClaudia Winkleman. In August 2013 he guest presentedBBC Radio 4'sFilm programme. He guest-presentsKermode and Mayo's Film Review, also withEdith Bowman,Sanjeev Bhaskar andBen Bailey Smith.

In 2018 Collin compiled a list of the 100 greatest films of all time for theTelegraph, withSingin' in the Rain at number one.[4]
