Ritchie Edhouse (born 19 April 1983) is an English professionaldarts player who competes inProfessional Darts Corporation (PDC) events, where he is currently rankedworld number twenty-six. He won his first major title at the2024 European Championship, defeatingJermaine Wattimena 11–3 in the final.
He has also made the semi-finals in five ranking events on thePDC Pro Tour, being a one-time semi-finalist on thePDC European Tour, at the2018 Dutch Darts Championship, and a four-time semi-finalist in Players Championship events. Edhouse also won three titles on thePDC Challenge Tour.
Edhouse won his firstPDC Challenge Tour title in2016,whitewashingMark Dudbridge 5–0 in the final of event three.[4]
Edhouse first won his PDC Tour Card at2017 Q-School after defeatingMickey Mansell 5–3 on Day Two.[5] He reached the semi-finals of the2018 Dutch Darts Championship, where he lost toRicky Evans 7–5.[6] Edhouse hit themaximum check-out of170, in his 6–4 win in the quarter-finals against the lateKyle Anderson.[7] He won his second Challenge Tour event in early 2019, and a third in 2020, allowing him to regain his tour card for the 2021 season.[8]
He won the opening match of the2022 PDC World Darts Championship in a 3–2 victory overPeter Hudson, setting up a clash with reigning world championGerwyn Price later in the night. Edhouse won the first set but he went on to lose 3–1.[9][10]
Edhouse suffered first round defeats at the2023 PDC World Darts Championship and2024 PDC World Darts Championship, losing toDavid Cameron[11] andJeffrey de Graaf.[12]
Edhouse experienced an improvement of form in 2024, particularly on theEuropean Tour. Edhouse reached the quarter-finals of the2024 International Darts Open, defeating Jitse Van der Wal 6–1,Michael Smith 6–5 in a deciding leg[13] andRob Cross 6–4 before losing toStephen Bunting 6–5 in a deciding leg. He also made the quarter-finals of the2024 Baltic Sea Darts Open, where he lost to eventual championRob Cross 6–5.[14] His success during the year saw him qualify for the2024 World Matchplay,2024 World Grand Prix and the2024 European Championship.
Edhouse headed into the2024 European Championship as a 250/1 outsider to win the tournament.[15] He won his opening game 6–1 againstGian van Veen, averaging 109.48 in the process. He then defeated former world championsMichael Smith andGary Anderson before a semi-final victory overLuke Woodhouse. Edhouse reached the final, where he defeatedJermaine Wattimena 11–3 to win his first major title.[2][16] The win resulted in Edhouse entering the top 32 in thePDC Order of Merit for the first time. It also granted him a spot at the2024 Grand Slam of Darts, where he lost toRob Cross in the Last 16.[17]
At the2025 PDC World Darts Championship, Edhouse wasseeded and started the tournament in the second round for the first time. He lost 3–1 toIan White.[18]
Edhouse missed out on qualification for the2025 European Championship following a third-round defeat at theSwiss Darts Trophy toRaymond van Barneveld that resulted in Edhouse finishing outside of the top 32 on the European Tour Order of Merit, meaning he could not defend his title.[19]
