Rishi Dhawan (born 19 February 1990) is an Indiancricketer who playsfirst-class andList A cricket forHimachal Pradesh.[1] Dhawan is primarily amedium-fast bowling all-rounder who bats in the middle-order. Dhawan played forKings XI Punjab in the2008 IPL.[2] He was signed up by theMumbai Indians in 2013. In February 2017, he was bought by theKolkata Knight Riders for the2017 Indian Premier League for 55lakhs.[3]

Career

He made hisOne Day International debut for Indiaagainst Australia on 17 January 2016.[4] He made hisTwenty20 International (T20I) debutagainst Zimbabwe atHarare Sports Club on 18 June 2016.[5]

He was the leading run-scorer for Himachal Pradesh in the2018–19 Ranji Trophy,[6] with 519 runs in eight matches.[7] In December 2021, Dhawan led Himachal Pradesh to their maiden title in Indian domestic cricket, beatingTamil Nadu in the final of the2021–22 Vijay Hazare Trophy.[8] Dhawan put in a strong all round showing in the tournament, finishing as the second highest run scorer with 458 runs at an average of 76 and the second highest wicket taker with 17 wickets at an average of 23 in eight matches.[9] Following this, in February 2022, he was bought by thePunjab Kings in theauction for the2022 Indian Premier League tournament.[10]

He also appeared withBhawanipore Club in P. Sen Trophy.[11][12]

In January 2025, he announced his retirement from Indian limited-overs cricket.[13]
