Rimostil (developmental code nameP-081) is adietary supplement andextract ofisoflavones fromred clover which was under development by Kazia Therapeutics (formerly Novogen) for the prevention ofpostmenopausal osteoporosis andcardiovascular disease and for the treatment ofmenopausal symptoms andhyperlipidemia but was never approved for medical use.[1][2][3][4][5] It is enriched with isoflavonephytoestrogens such asformononetin,biochanin A,daidzein, andgenistein, and is proposed to act as aselective estrogen receptor modulator, with bothestrogenic andantiestrogenic effects in differenttissues.[3][4][5] The extract reachedphase IIclinical trials for cardiovascular disorders, hyperlipidemia, and postmenopausal osteoporosis prior to the discontinuation of its development in 2007.[1]
