Riley Black (formerlyBrian Switek) is an Americanpaleontologist and science writer.[2][3] She is the author of natural history books such asThe Last Days of the Dinosaurs,Skeleton Keys andMy Beloved Brontosaurus.
Black studied Ecology & Evolutionary Biology atRutgers University.[4][5]
Her books includeThe Last Days of the Dinosaurs,Skeleton Keys andMy Beloved Brontosaurus.[6] Black was hired as "resident paleontologist" for the 2015 filmJurassic World.[7] She also starred in the 2022 documentariesAlaskan Dinosaurs andDinosaur Apocalypse.[7]
Black previously wrote under the name Brian Switek.[8] In 2019, she came out publicly astransgender andnon-binary and startedhormone replacement therapy.[2][9]
