Richard S. Ware (born August 6, 1963) is an American professional racecar driver and owner ofRick Ware Racing.

When he was nine years old, he began racingmotocross and moved up to theBMX class when he was twelve.

In 1983, he was named Rookie of the Year in the California Sports Car Club.

In 1990, he moved toNorth Carolina and made hisNASCAR Winston Cup Series debut that year atThe Bud at the Glen in the No. 22 owned byBuddy Baker. He spent the next decade running short tracks in theARCA, and theBusch Series. He suffered injuries in 1996 atWatkins Glen International Raceway, while practicing a Winston Cup car, he crashed into the wall and was unconscious for 45 minutes. He made his return to NASCAR in1998, when he was unable to qualify for theSave Mart/Kragen 350 in his No. 70Ford Thunderbird.

He ran nine of the fourteen races inNASCAR West Series in 1999, before he moved up to theCraftsman Truck Series in 2000, where he ran his own No. 51 Chevys, but only ran a limited schedule to sponsorship issues and injuries. Since then, he has run one Craftsman Truck race and is owner ofRick Ware Racing. He is the father ofCody Ware andCarson Ware.
