Rick Hillis was a Canadian poet and short story writer.
He graduated from theUniversity of Saskatchewan and theIowa Writers Workshop, with an MFA. He attendedStanford University as a Stegner Fellow and Jones Lecturer in fiction writing, and was also a Chesterfield Film Writers’ Fellow at Universal Studios.
He taught creative writing at a number of institutions, includingReed College,[1]Stanford University,Lewis & Clark College, and theUniversity of Oregon. As well, he was on faculty at theUniversity of Iowa’s Summer Writers’ Festival.[2] He began teaching atDePauw University in 2002.[3]
Rick Hillis died on October 6, 2014.[4]
