Rick Dickson (born June 14, 1954) is an American former sports administrator and current interim president of the University of Tulsa.[2] He previously served as theathletic director atUniversity of Tulsa, and atTulane University from 2000 through 2015.[3][4] After taking over in 2000,Tulane teams have since won nineConference USA Championships. They have advanced toNCAA postseason play 15 times (counting three NCAA Tournament appearances each by the Green Wave women's basketball and men's tennis teams).Tulane advanced to theCollege World Series in2001 and2005. During his administration theTulane Green Wave became a member of theAmerican Athletic Conference, leavingConference USA.[5]

Dickson is a graduate ofBishop Kelley High School inTulsa, Oklahoma[6] and theUniversity of Tulsa. Prior to Tulane, he was athletic director for six years atWashington State University in Pullman.[7][8][9][10] TheCougars played in their firstRose Bowl in67 years in January1998.

Dickson announced his retirement in April 2024.[11] On June 18, 2025, it was announced that Dickson would be the University of Tulsa's interim president.He plans to stay here for one year until the University can find their next president.[12]
