Ricardo Escotto Lechuga (born 14 December 2004) is a Mexicanracing driver who last competed full-time in the2025 Indy NXT forAndrettiCape Indy NXT.[1][2] He previously drove part-time in the2024 Indy NXT forJuncos Hollinger Racing and in the2024 USF Pro 2000 Championship forBN Racing.[3][4]
Following a three year hiatus from racing, Escotto signed withCram –Hitech GP to compete in the2022 Formula 4 UAE Championship.[5] He had a difficult season with no points and finishing 25th in the standings.
For the 2022 season, Escotto JoinedCram-Pinnacle to compete full-time in the2022 F4 Spanish Championship.[6] He had a best result of 9th twice atAragón and finished 22nd in the championship.
Alongside his campaign in the F4 Spanish Championship, Escotto competed in select rounds of the2022 Italian F4 Championship withCram Motorsport.[7]
For 2023, Escotto made the switch to America, competing in the2023 USF Pro 2000 Championship withJay Howard Driver Development. He would get his first win in the championship atIndianapolis, finishing ahead of his teammateReece Ushijima.[8] Escotto wouldn't finish on the podium again in the remainder of the season, and finished thirteenth in the standings.
Escotto returned for the2024 season, switching teams toBN Racing.[3] He would have a more successful season, finishing on the podium twice atRoad America andToronto respectively. Escotto finished 9th in the championship.
On May 31, 2024, it was announced that Escotto would make his debut in theIndy NXT series forJuncos Hollinger Racing, where he would drive in five races for the team.[4] He would have his highest result of thirteenth atLaguna Seca andMilwaukee.
For 2025, Escotto moved up to the series full-time for the 2025 season. He signed withAndrettiCape Indy NXT, becoming anAndretti Global affiliated driver and with the aim of driving for the team for the 2026 season.[1] However, on July 25, Andretti Cape announced that it had parted ways with Escotto ahead of the Laguna Seca double-header.[9]
