TheRevue d'Égyptologie (RdE) is a scholarly journal published annually by theSociété française d'égyptologie [fr] with the support of theCentre National de la Recherche Scientifique and theCentre national du livre.[1] TheRevue d'Égyptologie publishes articles on thehistory,archaeology, andart history of the cultures who lived along the riverNile, from prehistory up to theCoptic period inFrench andEnglish,German andItalian.
The journal is the successor ofRecueil des Travaux relatifs à la philologie et à l'archéologie égyptiennes et assyriennes which appeared from 1879 to 1923.[1][2] TheRevue d'Égyptologie is thus the eldestFrenchEgyptological journal concerned with the different aspects of the cultures who lived along the riverNile, from prehistory up to theCoptic period (although theBulletin de l’Institut Français d’Archéologie Orientale has been published for longer under the same title).[1]
