Retrognathia is a type ofmalocclusion which refers to an abnormal posterior positioning of themaxilla[1] ormandible,[2] particularly the mandible, relative to the facial skeleton and soft tissues.[3]
A retrognathic mandible is commonly referred to as anoverbite, though this terminology is not used medically.
