Resolute Bay is anArctic waterway in theQikiqtaaluk Region,Nunavut, Canada. Named after the Arctic exploration vesselHMS Resolute,[2] it is located inParry Channelmap on the southern side ofCornwallis Island.map The hamlet ofResolutemap is located on the northern shore of the bay withResolute Bay Airportmap to the northwest. TheInuit associated with Resolute Bay are calledQausuittuq[3] and the population of the hamlet in the2021 census was 183.[4]

On the western shore, the Defence Research Telecommunications Establishment (DRTE) and theCommunications Research Centre Canada[5] operated a launch site forsounding rockets.map Between 1966 and 1971 rockets of the typesBlack Brant andBoosted Arcas were launched.[6][7]

A small hut built some 600 years ago by theThule people, ancestors of theInuit, near the hamlet ofResolute it was restored by archaeologists.
