Renpet was, in theEgyptian language, the word for "year".[1] Its hieroglyph was figuratively depicted inart as a woman wearing apalm shoot (symbolizingtime) over her head.[2] She was often referred to as theMistress ofEternity and also personified fertility, youth andspring. The glyph regularly appears on monuments and documents throughout Egyptian history as the beginning of the phrase recording the regnal year of the pharaoh.
