Remya Nambeesan (born 24 March 1986) is a former Indian actress, who primarily worked inMalayalam andTamil films. She has acted in over 71 films.
Remya Nambessan was born inChottanikkara, Kochi, Kerala[1] to SubrahmaniamUnni and Jayasree.[2][3] Her father is a formertheatre artiste, who was an active member of troupes such as "Jubilee" and "Harishree". She has a brother, Rahul,[2] who has worked as the music director in the Malayalam moviePhilips and the Monkey Pen and as a playback singer in the filmThattathin Marayathu.[4] She attended the Mahatma Gandhi Public School, Ambadimala nearChottanikkara. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in Communicative English fromSt. Teresa's College,Ernakulam.[5]
Remya started her career with minor supporting roles in the following years in films includingSathyan Anthikad's satire filmNarendran Makan Jayakanthan Vaka (2001)[6] andGramophone (2003).[2][7][8]
She played her first lead role, as a bold dance teacher, in the 2006 filmAanachandam.[9][10][11][2][12][13][14][15][16][17][18][19]
