Rekha Verma (born 20 May 1973) is an Indian politician from Uttar Pradesh, India.[2] She is a National Vice President of the BJP from 2019.[3] She was a two time Member of Parliament fromDhaurahra Lok Sabha constituency. She lost the2024 Indian general election in Uttar Pradesh.[4]
Verma was born in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh to Devnarayan Katiyar and Urmila Katiyar. Her husband Arun Kumar Verma died in 2013 and she joined BJP. She studied till intermediate.[2]
Verma was elected to theLok Sabha, the lower house of theParliament of India fromDhaurahra Seat,Uttar Pradesh as a member of theBharatiya Janata Party in 2014 and 2019. In the2014 Indian general election in Uttar Pradesh, she polled 3,60,357 votes and defeated Daud ofBahujan Samaj Party who got 2,34,682 votes.[5][6] She won by a margin of 1,25,675 votes. In the2019 Indian general election in Uttar Pradesh, she polled 5,12,905 votes and defeated Arshad Ahmed Siddiqui ofBahujan Samaj Party by a margin of 1,60,611 votes.[7] In the2024 Indian general election in Uttar Pradesh, she lost toAnand Bhadauriya of Samajwadi Party by a narrow margin of 4,449 votes.[8]
