Red Cross of the Democratic Republic of the Congo

TheRed Cross of the Democratic Republic of the Congo is theRed Cross member organization for theDemocratic Republic of the Congo.[1] It was founded by theInternational Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and admitted to theInternational Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) in 1963. An unrelated earlier Red Cross society had existed in theCongo Free State underKing Leopold II of Belgium's rule, and disbanded in 1909.[2]
