Rebakanta Mahanta is aSattriya artist fromAssam, India, who specialises in traditional bamboomask masking. He started learning the art of mask making as a child from his father.[2] For his contribution in the field of mask masking, he has been a recipient of theSangeet Natak Akademi Award in 2014,[3]Shilp Guru Award in 2008 and Bishu Prasad Rabha.[4] in 2015.[5]
In January 2025, he was honored with thePadma Shri, India's fourth-highest civilian award, by theGovernment of India.[6][7]
