Rautela (Devanagari:रौतेला) is aRajput clan found in bothKumaon andGarhwal regions ofUttarakhand.[2]
Rautela's areRajputs. They are the descendants of theChands. Among the Chands the title of the eldest son was Gusain. He had the right to the kingdom. The younger sons were called Rautela.[3] It was also a title conferred to high ranking soldiers who had shown exceptional bravery.[3]
