Dr Ratna De Nag (born 6 September 1948) is an Indianpolitician who has been serving asMinister of State forEnvironmentScience, Technology and Bio-Technology in theGovernment of West Bengal. She was a member of the15th Lok Sabha and16th Lok Sabha fromHooghly (Lok Sabha constituency), which includes theSingur area. She lost theLok Sabha Elections 2019 toLocket Chatterjee, who was elected as aBJP candidate from the Hooghly Lok Sabha constituency. In the2021 election, she was elected as theMLA ofWest Bengal Legislative Assembly fromPandua Vidhan Sabha Constituency.

She is daughter of Gopal Das Nag, who was Labour Minister in theCongress government underSiddhartha Shankar Ray. In 2001 and 2006, she won the assembly election fromSreerampur (Serampore).[2][3][4]

A doctor (MBBS andDCH) by profession, she was Member of the Committee on Petroleum and Natural Gas,Lok Sabha.[1] She was a member of the Panel of chairpersons in the16th Lok Sabha.[5][6][7]

She was sworn in as the Minister of State (Independent Charge) as a part of the21st Council of Ministers for the state of West Bengal under the leadership ofMamata Banerjee with the portfolios ofDepartment of Environment[8] and Department of Science & Technology and Bio-Technology.[9][10][11]
