Ratan Dewasi Desai (born 25 September 1975) is an Indian politician. He is a member ofAll India Congress Committee and state spokesperson ofRajasthan State Congress.[1] He has been anMLA fromRaniwara constituency in the Rajasthan Assembly elections, 2008[2] and Deputy Chief Whip (Minister of State) in theAshok Gehlot government.
He was elected MLA fromRaniwara constituency in the 2008 assembly elections and since 2011 has been the government deputy chief whip in the thenAshok Gehlot government.At present, he is a popular, active and powerful leader of theCongress party inJalore andSirohi districts of western Rajasthan.
Ratan Dewasi was born on 25 September 1975 inMount Abu,Sirohi district ofRajasthan. His father's name is Shankarlal Dewasi and his wife's name is Viraj Dewasi. Dewasi has been a brightstudent sincechildhood. He is a diploma in hotel management degree holder.
Ratan Dewasi first startedpolitics as astudent leader by joining the student political organizationNational Student Union of India (a unit of theCongress Party). He was always and any time ready for student interest in order to solve the problems of poor and backward students, he was always a pioneer in protest and protest against theadministration and in view of his skilfulleadership ability and youthful zeal, the party High Command in 1997 entrusted the responsibility ofdistrict president ofSirohi District,N.S.U.I. After that, Dewasi continued to win the maximum number ofcandidates with his ability, dedication and hard work to win the party's candidates and reinvigorated theorganization across the district.
He has been elected to theRajasthan Legislative Assembly elections for two terms. He was elected in2008 for the first term and then in2023 fromRaniwara as a member of theIndian National Congress.[7]
